from Jeremy, with love

Kat here!
So one of my best friends Jeremy has absolutely fallen in love with our blog {can you blame him? haha}. It just so happens that he is one of THE most fashionable people I know and my favourite person to run around Vancouver with...

It was an obvious choice to pick him to do a guest blog post; here's a wrap up of his summer faves...

Me on a beach in Australia
Through the Sands of Time

Ever sit on the beach and just let the sand run through your fingers like time?
This summer, like every summer it seems, has just flown by (didn't help that I spent half of it in an air cast, my hottest summer accessory)!

I’ve come to the realization through some life altering events that life is short and you only get one shot at it so pour moi, this summer has been all about experimenting and change.

Some changes may be temporary (like new hairstyles and friends moving for school), others more permanent (my tattoo and my expanding wardrobe), while other changes are just beginning to take shape thus leading me to
new beginnings.

My favourite things of the summer...

Hangout//Gastown

If you’re into the less demanding pace of downtown Vancouver, Gastown offers a hideaway from the hustle and bustle with its signature brick roads which are lined with some of Vancouver’s hottest boutiques; a must see for all of Vancouver’s fiercest fashionistas.

The Charles Bar

But don’t be fooled by the calm tranquility of daytime because when night falls, the party starts.

Located at 209 Abbott Street in Gastown, this shop not only carries a wonderful array of clothing lines from independent designers but also an assortment of neat finds ranging from accessories such as bracelets, tote bags, and even pillow cases to natural soy scented candles (take a whiff of the “Merlot”, it’s orgasmic).

Also, don’t forget to say Hi to their shop resident bulldog Lily who always looks dapper in any one of her knitted sweaters.

Life/After/Denim

What more can I say? Chambray is like the fabric of time and has yet to become just another “fad” after all these years and therefore, it is a MUST have in every closet.
Found these at Nouvelle Nouvelle and they were the very last pair...*whew*

Love pairing these with my vintage Mickey Mouse shirt from H&M and my TOMs.

Cool Beans

Kat here! I'm typically someone who finds it hard to step outside my comfort zone.
Anyone who knows me knows that I can't live without enjoy a bevy {or two} from Starbucks every day now and then.

As of late, amidst a flurry of changes in my life, I've been feeling adventurous. Two days ago while meandering around Gastown with my best friend Jeremy we decided to try out the Coffeebar on Water St.

The simple menu of coffee and teas was far from intimidating in comparison to other cafes. I went for my usual London Fog {typical, I know} and was not disappointed. The food choices looked delectable but healthy at the same time, ranging from almond croissants to the salmon pasta salad.

The decor had me at hello (I couldn't resist snapping a couple of pictures). Beautiful, clean, simple, fresh, modern, cool, trendy. The opportunities are endless - sit up front row for the best spots for people watching {never boring in Gastown!}; enjoy a great book, or blog study a little more privately in the back; or take in some sunshine on the courtyard patio.

I enjoyed everything about the Coffeebar so much {drink, food, decor, atmosphere, people}, I returned again yesterday with my sister... I have a feeling it won't be my last visit!

You know where to find me!

Something with a view?

Kat here!
So great news Vancity, I checked the weather forecast for the next week and I saw something I have yet to see so far this year. SUN ALL WEEK?!

Us three girls have all been so busy doing our own thing, but with August knocking on the door (indicating that there is ONE - I repeat ONE - more month of summer freedom left) I've decided that I'm going to drag get the girls together and visit our fave patios in Vancouver.

Here's where you can find us:

chill winston - gastown
a patio for people watching, one of the best spots for vibe and atmosphere

local public eatery - kits
great view of one of the world's sexiest beaches - kits beach!!!  chill, relaxed, amazing.

havana - commercial drive
admire the adorable pups being walked on the drive and the beautiful art displayed in the gallery inside

the keg - yaletown
unbelievable rooftop patio - fireplaces, skybar, yaletown view...... need I say more?

joe fortes - robson st
seafood, fine wine, and a rooftop garden - bliss!

water st. cafe - gastown
dine to the sight and sound of gastown's iconic steamclock.... you may recognize this one from the movie 'Love Happens' - what up hollywood!

bridges - granville island
patio literally on the water. enough said.

goldfish - yaletown
quaint tables amongst a garden, c'est comme le français, non? can't forget the cozy lounge couches, pillows and candles for late night... why yes, i'll take a glass of wine.

All of these restaurants are phenomenal in their own unique ways (obviously because we're featuring them!), and you can be sure that the food is delicious and more most importantly the drinks are always pouring!
Let us know what you think, and if we missed your fave, tell us about it!

Bon appetit!

Spotlight...

There is no better place than Vancouver on a warm, sunny spring day... and girl about town, Olivia struts her stuff on the streets of Gastown. So effortless, and simple this girl could make a paper bag look good!

Enjoy the sunshine!!
