I came across this somewhat old Levi's commercial the other day and I absolutely fell in love with the concept. Merging ballet with stunning music to promote fashion is like a symphony of my favourite things.
Movement in its most purest form, a vivid backdrop, and a graceful yet dynamic melody.
Nothing over the top.
Simple.
Elegant. I would be more inclined to watch commercials if they were all like this.

With July officially over, we are (unfortunately) 1/2 way through the Summer which means we only have a month left to fit in all our favourite Summer activities and destinations before September hits.

So if you've been following Men's Monday from the beginning, you'll know that I volunteered at the NOH8 photo shoot when it came into Vancouver a couple of weeks ago. Well guess what! I finally got my photo back and I am so excited to share it accompanied with some of what went down at the event. (It's about time right?!)
My wonderful friends Kyle and Caroline volunteered with me and the event was catered with delicious food courtesy of the Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside Hotel. It felt really great to support such an amazing cause and with great friends, good food, eager volunteers and great energy from those in attendance, the hours just flew by.
From The Real Housewives of Vancouver, both Reiko and Mary (who are sweethearts in real life) as well as their families attended and supported the event followed close behind by media and fans.
I got the opportunity to get my photo taken by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska (can cross
this off my bucket list) at the end of the night and I was so impressed
with his infectious energy and upbeat personality even after hours and
hours of being on his feet taking photos. He made sure everyone got
their opportunity and was so easy to work with. I can honestly say I've
never felt so comfortable in front of a camera with him directing me
from behind the lens.
I hope the NOH8 team comes back to Vancouver in the future & you can count on me volunteering again for this inspiring cause. Now, without further ado...
The hunt is finally over!
I've finally found myself a denim jacket that fits my small frame thanks to Topman located at The Bay on Granville str. As one of the few stores that carries men's XS and even XXS on occasions, it quickly became love at first buy.
We all know what it's like to go to store after store after store and find so many wonderful pieces but to our dismay, they don't carry our size. Whether you feel like Regina George on Kaltine bars or Kate Moss on a diet, it's always the most amazing feeling to find that one store that finally carries your perfect fit....
And no, I am NOT talking about Sears.
So thank you Topman, for thinking of us little guys.

A couple of weeks ago I was invited by a very good friend of mine to a tasting at a new restaurant opening up in Vancouver. With free food at stake, I happily obliged without any hesitation. Little did I know I was in for a big treat.
We warmed up our tummies with a chicken and sausage gumbo followed by seasoned cajun fries as our appetizers.The next dish was a basket of delicious cod nuggets which were the perfect amount of crispy on the outside and tenderness and juicy on the inside. My mouth is salivating all over again...
Then came the feast: 2 pounds of crawfish, 2 pounds of shrimp, and 1 pound of clam accompanied with seasoned potatoes and corn. I've never had crawfish before and that in itself was a fun experience. Although there were endless amounts of shellfish covering the surface of our table, the stand out for me was the seasoned corn on the cob. I just could not get enough!!! ...and yes, I did ask for seconds.
Located on one of Vancouver's busiest streets, Cray Kitchen + Bar is the perfect location to catch the game on any one of their plasma screen TVs, catch up with friendss, or grab a drink; all while chowing down on some good ol' Louisiana style home cooking (and probably laughing at each other while doing it...it's a messy job). The decor which includes starfish and shells strewn across a bed of netting along the walls, some clever signage, brick, and vaulted ceilings framed with old wood gives it a warm beachy feel.
But be warned when choosing your spices for the XXX hot sauce is not one to fool around with but if you're up for a spicy challenge, dig in!
Doors opened on June 20th so if you're looking for a fun, new, modern
and delicious place to eat, Cray Kitchen + Bar is definitely one to give a shot! So check it out and...

This played at a club I went to the other night in Toronto
and I almost lost all control of my senses as a
shriek of excitement escaped my lungs and my body went into a
full fledged flailing spasm of what I think was some for of dancing.
This past weekend we attended the tenth annual EAT!Vancouver festival at B.C. Place Stadium and aside from adding a LOT couple of inches to our waist span, we had the opportunity to learn a lot about some of the local foods produced close to home while treating our taste buds to a party a long the way! If learning was this delicious, maybe I wouldn't procrastinate so much. Professors, take note.
Once I got my media pass, there was NOTHING holding me back from all the calories I was about to ingest.

Five stages were set up around the stadium for tastings and seminars. Depending on your interests, you could be sampling from dozens of different cheeses or learning about international cooking from world renowned chefs; or even listening to Vancouver's own Iron Chef Rob Feenie give a seminar at the Foot Network Celebrity stage.
Which seminar did we attend?
The wine tasting seminar of course...followed by the beer & food pairing seminar right after...
Nothing like a little afternoon buzz to get the day rolling in the right direction. #Guilty

My sincerest apologies for the lack of posting last week. Work, school & the 1st week of Summer semester which includes the terrors joys of my first intersession course got the best of me.

It's completely normal to see someone walking down the street or in the media and to think 'Man, that guy is toned' or 'Man, that guy's hair is slick' or even 'Man, that guy is rocking that purse...' Ok maybe not the latter thought but you get the drift.
Jealousy, although ugly, is a normal thing.
